What is KPI Scorecarding?

KPI is short for key performance indicator. A KPI is a measurement that help guide an organisation towards its goals. One example might be ‘average revenue per employee’.

KPIs are often measured against time, in other words “How does this month’s performance compare with previous months?”

A scorecard is your own individual set of KPIs that you wish to monitor. With Cognos 8 you can view these on a portal page only visible to a limited set of users.

With Cognos 8 Event Studio you can set alerts to automatically let you know as soon as a metric changes. You can set rules to define what changes you want to monitor, and have the option to receive the alert by email
